These works have eating as their theme. Painted over several centuries, the 17th century Dutch artists exquisitely portrayed glassware, china and good food. Others composed groups of people sitting round a table, conveying relationships and visual patterns, or depicted the pleasures of dining out, the fast food scene, the melancholy of eating alone.
